Recommended application time
- (5/24 Rule) If you have opened 5 or more new accounts in the last 24 months, Chase will not approve your application on this card, regardless of your credit score. The number of new accounts includes all credit card accounts, not just Chase accounts. See this article for more details on how to possibly bypass this rule.
- This product is offered to you if you do not have this card and have not received a new cardholder bonus for this card in the last 24 months. Note that what matters here is the time you received the sign-up bonus, not the time you open or close the account.
- Don’t apply for more than 2 Chase credit cards within 30 days or you’ll likely be rejected.
- We recommend applying for this card after having a credit history of more than one year.
Summary
The $200 sign-up bonus is decent for a no-fee card. If you are a big fan of Amazon and have already chosen to be an Amazon Prime member, this is a good card with 5% cashback on Amazon.
There is also an Amazon Synchrony Amazon Prime store card and an AmEx Amazon Business Prime co-branded business card. They can all earn 5% cashback on Amazon. If you’re not eligible for this Chase card due to the 5/24 rule, then these two are good alternatives.
